Kombucha: Limits and Benefits

Pitcher and glass filled with Kombucha with sliced lemon

Below is a link to a great article that sites studies regarding the benefits of Kombucha. Some are animal studies which don’t always translate to humans, but the nutrients found in kombucha have been studied on humans with beneficial effects (healing gastric ulcers and liver detox).

One warning, based on my own experience and other practitioners, too much of a good thing can be detrimental.

Everyone has a somewhat different gut microbiome. The beneficial bacteria in kombucha can sometimes throw off the balance of your own and you might experience abdominal bloating and gas and wonder what the heck you did!

If you have blood sugar issues or candida, it may or may not help. It just depends on the person.

What I suggest (also mentioned in the article), is start out slow and just a few times per week.

I would love to hear from you about your experience with this powerful tea.
